Terms of Service

Effective October 11, 2026 · Version 2026-10-11

The short version

  • Jantr is software. The services you sell, and your relationship with your clients, are yours.
  • You're responsible for your licences, insurance, safety, prices and following the law.
  • Drive times and travel fees are estimates. Check them before relying on them.
  • Don't store health records in Jantr, and follow our Acceptable Use Policy.
  • We store your clients' information for you and protect it under the Data Processing Schedule below.
  • Our liability is limited, and Alberta law applies.

This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what applies.

1. This agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and jantr, who operates Jantr (“Jantr”, “we”, “us”). They apply when you create an account, set up a business, or join a business as a team member.

If you accept on behalf of a business, you confirm you’re authorized to bind it, and “you” includes that business. You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live). Our Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy are part of these terms.

2. The service

Jantr provides online booking pages, scheduling, route-aware travel-fee pricing, client records, email notifications and calendar feeds for service businesses. We may add, change or remove features. We’ll give reasonable notice before removing a feature you rely on, where we can.

3. Where Jantr is available

Jantr is offered to businesses operating in Canada (except Quebec, for now) and the United States. You must tell us accurately where your business operates. Don’t use Jantr for a business located in Quebec, the European Union or the United Kingdom.

4. Accounts and team members

  • Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly about any unauthorized use.
  • Give team members only the role and access they need. You're responsible for what people you invite do in your business account.
  • Keep your business details accurate, including your contact information and cancellation policy, because clients rely on them.

5. Your business and your clients

Jantr is not a party to any booking or agreement between you and your clients. We don’t provide, supervise or guarantee the services you offer. You are solely responsible for:

  • your services, their quality and safety, and the safety of you and your team at house and hotel calls;
  • holding the licences, registrations, certifications and insurance your work requires;
  • following laws that apply to you, including professional regulations, consumer protection, privacy, tax and employment laws;
  • your prices, travel fees, cancellation and refund policies, and honouring the prices clients were shown;
  • your communications with clients, and any notices or consents the law requires you to give or get from them.

6. Travel fees and estimates

Jantr calculates travel fees from settings you choose and drive-time and distance estimates from third-party mapping services. Estimates can be wrong because of traffic, road closures, address errors or service outages. You’re responsible for reviewing your settings and the prices clients see. We don’t guarantee that any estimate, route or schedule is accurate or achievable.

7. No health records

Jantr isn’t designed or secured for health or medical records. Don’t use it to store clinical notes, treatment records, diagnoses, intake or health history forms, insurance details or other health information, and don’t ask clients to enter them. If your profession requires you to keep health records, keep them in a system built for that. Jantr isn’t intended to be used by entities subject to HIPAA as a business associate, and we won’t sign business associate agreements.

8. Acceptable use

You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. In particular, Jantr must never be used to offer or arrange sexual services or to facilitate human trafficking or exploitation. We may investigate reports and suspend accounts as described there.

9. Your clients' information

You control the client information in your business account, and you’re responsible for having the right to collect it and use it through Jantr. We process it for you as described in the Data Processing Schedule at the end of these terms, which is part of this agreement.

10. Fees

Jantr is currently free to use. If we introduce fees for a plan you use, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice and you can close your account before they apply. Paid plans will be subject to additional terms shown when you subscribe.

11. Your content and our software

You keep ownership of the content you add, such as your logo, descriptions and photos. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, display and adapt it only as needed to operate Jantr for you, including showing your public booking page. You confirm you have the rights to the content you add.

We own Jantr, its software and its brand. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or build a competing product from it. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

12. Third-party services

Jantr uses third-party services, including Google Maps Platform for address search and drive times. By using these features you agree to be bound by the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. We aren’t responsible for third-party services or their availability.

13. Suspension and closing your account

You can close your business or delete your account at any time from your settings. Export your data first: when a business is closed its booking page goes offline, upcoming bookings are cancelled and clients are notified, and its data is permanently deleted 30 days later.

We may suspend or close an account, or unpublish a booking page, if we reasonably believe it breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, creates risk or legal exposure for us or others, or if the law requires it. Where it’s safe and lawful, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to respond or export your data.

14. Disclaimer

Jantr is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties and conditions, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t promise that Jantr will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that notifications will always be delivered, or that bookings won’t conflict.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, neither we nor our suppliers will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, bookings, data or goodwill, even if we were told they were possible.

Our total liability for all claims relating to Jantr is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Jantr in the 12 months before the claim arose and CA$100.

We aren’t liable for the services you provide, for anything that happens during or because of an appointment, for disputes between you and your clients, or for losses caused by inaccurate estimates, missed or duplicated notifications, or outages of third-party services. These limits don’t apply where the law doesn’t allow them, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

16. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless jantr from claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) brought by third parties, including your clients and team members, arising from your services, your use of Jantr, your content, or your breach of these terms or the law.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version with its effective date and, for significant changes, tell you by email or in the app and ask you to accept them before continuing to use Jantr. If you don’t agree, you can close your account.

18. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Alberta for any dispute, except that either of us may seek urgent injunctive relief anywhere. Before starting a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally within 30 days. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under laws that can’t be waived by contract.

19. General

  • These terms, with the policies they refer to, are the entire agreement about Jantr and replace earlier understandings.
  • If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • Not enforcing a right isn't a waiver of it.
  • You may not transfer this agreement without our consent. We may transfer it to a successor operating Jantr, including a company we form, and we'll tell you if we do.
  • Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control.
  • We may send notices to the email address on your account. Send notices to us at the contact details below.
  • These terms are drawn up in English at the parties' request.

21. Data Processing Schedule

This schedule applies to personal information about your clients and team members that Jantr processes for you (“Client Data”).

Roles and instructions

You are the organization responsible for Client Data (the “controller” or “business” under applicable laws). We act as your service provider and processor and will process Client Data only to provide Jantr to you, as these terms and your use of the product instruct, or as the law requires. We’ll tell you if we believe an instruction breaks the law.

Our commitments

  • We won't sell or share Client Data, use it for targeted advertising, or use, keep or disclose it for any purpose other than providing Jantr, and we won't combine it with other data except as needed to provide the service.
  • Anyone we allow to access Client Data is bound by confidentiality.
  • We maintain reasonable technical and organizational security measures appropriate to the information, including encryption in transit, access controls and logging.
  • We'll help you respond to people's requests to access, correct or delete their information, including through the export and erase tools in Jantr.
  • We'll notify you without undue delay after confirming a breach of security safeguards affecting Client Data, and give you information you reasonably need to meet your own obligations.

Subprocessors and transfers

You authorize the subprocessors listed on our subprocessors page. We impose data protection obligations on them at least as protective as this schedule, and remain responsible for their performance. We’ll update that page before adding a subprocessor; if you object on reasonable grounds, you may close your account. Client Data is stored in the United States.

Deletion

You can export Client Data at any time. When you close your business, we delete Client Data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it, and except for encrypted backups that expire on their normal schedule.
